April 10 – Type III Fire-Resistant Design and Detailing for Exterior Walls, Shafts, and Intersections [Cobb]

Engineers, Scientists, Students, and GSPE  Members:

Our April meeting will be presented by Ms. Laura Cullen PE, a Structural Engineer at WoodWorks.  The topic will be Type III Fire-Resistant Design and Detailing for Exterior Walls, Shafts, and Intersections.

Laura is passionate about educating others about the benefits of building with wood.  She comes to WoodWorks with seven years of structural design experience.  During that time, she was primarily focused on mixed-use and multifamily structures, as well as K-12 schools.  She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Berry College.  Based in the Atlanta area, she is a member of CREW Atlanta, and is a 2018 graduate of Leadership CREW.  She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia.

Our meeting will be in Room Q315 at 7 PM with a social period starting at 6:30 PM on the southern Campus of KSU in the Engineering and Technology building Q.  You can park in the parking deck adjacent to Building  Q.
