GEORGIA MATHCOUNTS FOUNDATION

MATHCOUNTS is a national math enrichment, coaching, and competition program for middle school students. In existence for 40 years, MATHCOUNTS is one of the most successful education partnerships involving middle school students, educators, corporate sponsors, and volunteers.

The Georgia MATHCOUNTS competitions are presented by the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE). With a decline in students entering college to major in Engineering and/or Technology fields, GSPE has become a strong advocate and host of the Georgia MATHCOUNTS competitions to encourage students at the middle school level to strive for excellence in math and science. Enjoying the thrill and excitement of these core academic classes at the middle school level will lay the ground work for youth to recognize the importance of math and science as they mature into young adults making career choices.

HOW TO HELP

Financial Support
With the financial support from organizations, individuals, and corporate sponsors, Georgia MATHCOUNTS has been an enormous success.
GSPE has established the Georgia MATHCOUNTS Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, to fund Georgia’s MATHCOUNTS competitions. You can support these competitions by mailing a check (made payable to the Georgia MATHCOUNTS Foundation) to the foundation at 1266 West Paces Ferry Road, Suite 554 Atlanta, GA 30327.

Volunteer Support
Engineers, educators, and individuals from various professional careers dedicate their time and knowledge to ensure that Georgia MATHCOUNTS continues to be an outstanding program.
Local area competitions are held in February of each year. Please see the GSPE calendar for specific dates by chapter. The State Competition is held in March. We welcome volunteers for proctoring and scoring!
