Chris Martin will talk about the principles of good team functioning and a few myths about teamwork as well. He will explain what individual personality traits bring to a team composition, and will also elaborate on the distinctions between effective communication, cooperation, and coordination. Lastly, he will focus on the outcomes associated with high levels of psychological safety, which is the shared belief that it’s acceptable to take interpersonal risks.

Dr. Chris Martin teaches engineering students about teamwork skills and the science of happiness. He has advanced degrees in psychology, human-computer interaction, and sociology. He has lived in Atlanta since 1999 and has been at Georgia Tech as a student, a post-doc, and a full-time employee.
