In this session, Tim Echols will talk about grid planning in Georgia and how it has worked since 1991. He’ll explain the dilemma of massive load growth juxtaposed against an otherwise path towards reducing fossil fuel use. Nuclear energy will remain an essential part of the future, as will solar energy combined with storage. In the meantime, however, it looks like natural gas will be stepping up to provide significant power over the next 20 years. Echols will explain any role hydrogen might play it whether as well as other novel technologies.
