Part-Time Internet Researcher – Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) – Remote, Contract

The Opportunity:

The Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) is seeking a part-time independent contractor to serve as an internet researcher. This role is ideal for students looking for a flexible, supplemental income and who want to gain experience researching potential employers in the engineering field—a valuable skill for future job searches.

In this role, you will help GSPE identify potential members, sponsors, job board users, and event participants by researching engineering firms, decision-makers, and companies that employ engineers.

This opportunity is especially suited for students interested in engineering, business development, or sales. You’ll develop important skills like navigating online databases, identifying key decision-makers, and working with Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research existing and newly licensed Georgia professional engineers.
  • Identify organizations that employ engineers (both permanent and internships).
  • Research engineering firms, as well as organizations providing services to them.
  • Use LinkedIn and other online resources to identify decision-making managers and potential GSPE members.
  • Training provided.

Estimated Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per week
Location: Remote (Work from Home)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (ideal for students looking for supplemental income)
Schedule: Flexible, self-directed

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong internet research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (training provided for specific tasks).
  • Experience with LinkedIn is highly beneficial.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and set your own schedule.
  • Sales or business development experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets (wide-screen monitor recommended but not required).
